Child actress Cozi Zuehlsdorff to appear at Lakeshore Chinooks game

13-year-old actress Cozi Zuehlsdorff, from the Dolphin Tale, will join Lakeshore Chinooks fans at Kapco Park on June 5th. Zuehlsdorff will sign autographs for fans and help cheer on the Chinooks to a win.

The young actress will also sing the national anthem before the first pitch. The June 5th game against the Eau Claire Express begins at 6:35 p.m.

Bring your kids out to the Aquafina Pitch/Hit/Run in Cedarburg

The Cedarburg Parks, Recreation & Forestry, Grafton Parks and Recreation Department and Aquafina are teaming up to hold the Aquafina Pitch/Hit/Run on April 27th at Behling Field, W52 W5882 Portland Rd., Cedarburg. This baseball competition is accepting boys and girls between the ages 7-14 will compete in four different categories(7&8; 9&10; 11&12; 13&14). Participants in this competition will get to display three fundamental baseball skills, pitch, hit and run.

All winners in this local competition will advance to the sectional competition, then the team championship at Miller Park in June and the national finals at the MLB All-Star game in Kansas City, MO.

All participants in the local competition will be entered to win two free Milwaukee Brewers tickets.

Registration begins at 5:30 p.m., and competition is 6:00 p.m.

Guinness world record attempt happens June 23, Lake Geneva

Vespa and scooter enthusiasts and their fans can participate in a Guinness world record attempt for the largest scooter parade on the planet. The rally happens Saturday, June 23, 2012. The parade kicks off at 11:00 a.m.

Participation is free to anyone who will be driving any type of scooter in the parade. For those who don't wish to ride in the parade, it's a great opportunity to watch the event and be a part of history in the making.

The two-mile route through historic Lake Geneva will have a police escort. It ends with a celebration at Flatiron Park in the City of Lake Geneva. Coordinators hope to have 1,000 Vespas and scooters of all types participate.

American Red Cross to offer lifeguard training classes

American Red Cross to offer lifeguard training classes

American Red Cross is providing lifeguard training classes for adults and children over 15 years old from April 16 - May 30. Classes will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays. Class size is limited to 12, and Village of Grafton residents will be given first priority. Paid registrations will be taken on a first come, first served basis. Online registration is available at www.qualitylifegrafton.com or write a check to "Grafton Parks and Recreation" and drop it off at the Parks and Recreation Department, 675 N. Green Bay Rd.

New amateur baseball team The Lakeshore Chinnooks holds launch party on March 20th

The Lakeshore Chinooks announce the first crack at season tickets for their inaugural season. The Chinooks will be hosting a Launch Party on March 20 where fans can buy season tickets, pick their seats, see the new uniform, and meet the mascot. The Chinooks, the area’s new amateur baseball team, boasts some of the best college players in the country. The Chinooks will play at the new Kapco Park this summer, currently under construction on the campus of Concordia University. 

The Chinooks Launch Party will be held Tuesday, March 20, from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Shully’s Garden Pavilion, 146 Green Bay Road, Thiensville. At 7:00 p.m., the Chinooks uniforms will be unveiled by Brewers great and minority owner Robin Yount. Information will be available about becoming a host family, sponsorships, volunteer and internship opportunities. Fans can also sample ballpark fare, enter to win raffle prizes, and purchase Chinooks apparel.

Saukville Youth Baseball's Registration Kick-Off Day is scheduled for Saturday, March 3rd at the Feith Family YMCA located at 465 Northwoods Road, Port Washington, WI.  We will be available to answer questions and accept registrations from 10:00 AM through 1:00 PM on that date.  Thereafter, staff members will accept reqistrations at the Y in-person or they may be completed online.
